These are my photos from the 31st IChO in Bangkok, Thailand. I've added a short commentary to give them some context, and stuff that happened. The photos were scanned in at 75 dpi and then unsharp masked (generally once, occasionally twice), and have suffered a little from the jpeg compression.

Looking along the Canberra foreshore at the Captain Cook Fountain and Telstra Tower on Black Mountain
This first photo is actually of Canberra, in the ACT in Australia. This is where the Australian training camps are held. One of our mentors once put a bar over the fountain late at night. When it turned on in the morning, it was split into two streams, and one went onto the nearby bridge. The tower is atop Black Mountain, which is traditionally climbed on the last night of the camps.

The Australian team; from left Anthony 'Tos shead' Philips, David Solomon, 'Prę' (our guide), Keiran Rowe, James Andrewartha (me)
This is the Australian team in all our finery with our guide, just after the opening ceremony. From left Anthony Philips, David Solomon, Prę (our guide), Keiran Rowe, James Andrewartha (me).

From left Keiran, Jevgania Kozevnikova, David, Oksana Travnikova (David got with her), me, and looking like a dic khead in front, Anthony
The Australian and the part of the Estonian team with the Grand Palace in the background. From left Keiran Rowe, Jevgania Kozevnikova, David Solomon, Oksana Travnikova, James Andrewartha (me), in front Anthony Philips. You can see the Bangkok smog in the background.

The main building of the Grand Palace (two photo composite)
The main part of the Grand Palace, put together from two photos. Notice the use of both Thai and European styles in its construction.

If you're using Lynx, I bet you're getting pissed off at the way I repeat the alt tags immediately after; but then again, why are you using Lynx to view a photos page?
Another building in the Grand Palace. It was bloody hot that day (in fact it was bloody hot every day) and we had to wear long pants. Very uncomfortable, though the Korean fans helped a bit. Taking your shoes off every time your go inside got old pretty fast.

Me trying to be arty, and succeeding a bit
This was me trying to be arty by showing all the pointy gold bits there are at the Grand Palace.

More Grand Palace buildings. If you are using Lynx, you are getting the bonus of this extra commentary.
Another photo at the Grand Palace, note the Chinese style dragon which has a ball in its mouth (you can't actually see the ball) at the bottom left of the picture.

The last photo of my first film. My photo of the temple of the Emerald Buddha has the top third blacked out, which is why it's not here.
A photo from outside the Grand Palace, showing a great big gold thing, of unknown function (could be purely decorative).

Birds at Safari World. Or perhaps you're just reading this alt text by putting your mouse over the pictures.
Some of the tropical birds at Safari World, home of the Dolphin and Spy shows.

The feeding frenzy at the carp pool at Safari World
The carp feeding frenzy at Safari World. These fish are pretty psycho.

More fish.
Another photo of the feeding frenzy. The spy show came after this, but I didn't get any photos of it. It was a pretty good spoof of James Bond, except for the fact it was in Thai.

Some of the ruins at Ayutthaya. It wasn't supposed to turn out so phallic like this.
Some of the ruins at Ayutthaya, about 100km north of Bangkok, and which is one of many old capitals of Thailand.

A bunch of us at Ayutthaya; from left back row Tos shead, me, someone, someone, front row Mario Tagliazucchi, Esteban Ganc?, David, Keiran, Matias Bikiel
Australian, Argentinian and unknown teams outside a traditional Thai house at Ayutthaya; from left back row Anthony, me, someone, someone, front row Mario Tagliazucchi, Esteban Ganc?, David, Keiran, Matias Bikiel. I suck at names, so if you know who these people are, mail me and I'll fix it up. This was while we were wandering round Ayutthaya with little to do; we saw some elephants that we could ride, but it was a rip-off.

One big-ass Buddha at Ayutthaya
This is the 12m wide by 17m high Buddha at Ayuttaya.

Australian team minus the fuc kwit, plus two Argentinians; from left me, Mario, Keiran, David, Matias
From left me, Mario, Keiran, David, Matias. We are outside the temple that holds the Buddha above. I didn't take this photo, so the finger's not mine.

Two pagoda thingys ruins at Ayutthaya (two photo composite)
Some more ruins at Ayutthaya. I don't know anybody in this photo, so don't bother asking. As you might be able to tell from the way someone's cut in half, this is actually two photos put togoether.

More ruins
More ruins at Ayutthaya.

A shark at the Fish Palace
This is a crappy photo of a shark at the Fish Palace place, up near Ayutthaya.

Another fish. This one had a really fine structure that you can't see cos it's out of focus.
Another crappy photo of a fish.

The craft centre where we sat around bored for several hours in un-airconditioned discomfort
The craft centre near the Fish Palace, where we were all bored brainless for several hours. As well, it lacked airconditoning, so we just sat around.

The small turtle tank at the Sattahip Navy Base
The small turtles at Sattahip Navy Base turtle conservation centre.

Some of the larger turtles, with Wayne King above the sign
Some of the large turtles. Tim King is standing above the sign, dunno who the other people are.

A sort of arty shot showing several sizes of turtle next to each other
More turtles.

Me and fuc kbrain patting a turtle. Photo taken by Prae.
Anthony and me patting a turtle. You can see my 200 baht watch which started falling apart after about two days. After this we went to a beach, followed by a really seedy wildlife park.

From left back row; me, Esteban, Wan ker, Mario, Keiran, Daivd, Matias, someone, front row Damien Bikiel, Manuel Rodrigo, Daniel Klein.
After the closing ceremony; From left back row; me (half cut out of picture), Esteban, Anthony, Mario, Keiran, Daivd, Matias, someone, front row Damien Bikiel, Manuel Rodrigo, Daniel Klein.

The Australian team; from left me, Rodd Snook, Keiran, David, Tim Senden, Anthony. Spam for Google. Note that Bu ttpl ug (previously referred to as Cu ntfa ce, but moved over here and split up for google images) didn't wear a hawaiian shirt, thus ruining the effect.
The Australian team; from left me, Rodd Snook, Keiran, David, Tim Senden, Anthony, and Tim's holding our mascot, Boris.
